Sunday 16/12: Watch the races for free!!

    Hey guys

Apparently the Mt Wellington track will be open again tomorrow for buckets, minimotos and motards. I paid $10 today for 2 x 10 minute sessions which were choice fun.

It's a bit of a laugh watching the races (especially full-grown men on mini motos). So, come on down if you're free tomorrow - it's free to watch. I might try and get another couple of sessions on the KTM if some other Motards riders show up again, though she shook herself to bits today (just spent 4 hours tightening every screw nut and bolt on my bike).

    Start: 9.30am
    Finish: Early avo.

Well, since I will be in Auckland for the morning, I'll stop by for a few laps!
"I came into this game for the action, the excitement... go anywhere, travel light,... get in, get out,... wherever there's trouble, a man alone... Now they got the whole country sectioned off; you can't make a move without a form."

Paved roads are just another example of wasted tax payer dollars.

I'm going on a short ride in the morning, hopefully I can get back in time to check it out. I've been meaning to come and have a look for a while.

    Crashed and blown!

I had another squiz down at the track today. Primed with a little more confidence from the day before I pushed the KTM a little harder but quickly realised that my tyres weren't up to scratch (the rear had worn down quite a lot already). After two 10 minute practice sessions, the four of us on motards rode out for a casual race. About 5 laps in I came off the start / finish line straight and hit the first left hand bend as the video shows and then overbaked it into the corner resulting in a bit of a low slide. Even without frame / axel sliders the KTM was fine (just a scratch to the rear axel nut).

After that I picked up the KTM and did another two laps but then heard a massive crack and then grinding sounds from the engine...

I hope it's just the clutch, but my gut tells me that sound came from the gearbox... So yeah, first race weekend and it's all over

Anyway, I had a great time and now have till Feb (next race meet) to get the KTM up and running again.

Thought that might have been you that binned it today (I was sitting up by the clubrooms watching at that stage).

Just a little bit hot comming into the corner and accelerating out pushed you over the edge, not that I can talk, I binned my bucket three times on saturday, hope that damage isint to major.

For the record Qkkid was in my bed, not the other way round

    Ouch!

Pity I only stayed for 10 mins.

It would've been sweet to see you bin, I mean race...

No crash damage as such, but internal mechanical dramas. Will know more next week when she's opened up.

Can't put name to face Pumba- but hope to see you next year again. Maybe I should race a bucket too (might be cheaper...?!).

P.S. Hungus: Still no on-road bins in all my days of riding

    Well, no injuries sustained then?

And the leathers? Any rips or tears?

The honour badge that you carry after a bin!

Bummer about your bin and breakage.

Sorry I didn't reply to your text from yesterday, was up north out of range till this arvo, would have come but had our family Xmas lunch get together yesterday, (that time of year already)

If you bike turns into a major, you can just throw it in the bin and buy mine, I am purchasing a business and I think i'm going to need the cash so it may hit the market.

Actually yeah. I have a small tear in the leather on the inside of my elbow and leather grazes over the arm, back and leg. Even at that speed I managed to get bruises and a some light grazing to my arm and leg. Maybe RJays leathers aint that good? (I'd hate to bin at 100kph or more).

Shut up man! I told you not to jinx me like that! Radiators are sweet (well no worsely banged up than they were before) - hopefully mechanics won't be too serious.

No worries mate - I hope to have a full time job next year (no more $218 p/w from the student allowance!).
