    Fuel filter

Did you put a fuel filter on it before you filled the first tank?
Sometimes the bikes have bits of plastic in the fuel tank.
Pull the carby off, give it and the jets a good clean out.
Empty your fuel out of the tank and throw it away. Put a fuel filter on for the
three tank fulls. Make sure your mix is 25/1 until the bike is 'run-in', then 50/1 after that.
If it still plays up, check the carb is working properly and the throttle.
They can be a pain. We put a bigger fuel line on ours and that helped.

Come to Mt Wellington Kart Track and watched them being raced. You might change your mind. Valentino Rossi started his bike career on one of these, so they cant be that bad.

Dirty carb is how it sounds. Take it off and give it a good cleanout with some good carb cleaner.
