    18ltr Fuel Tank

    Best = 400kms
    Average = 350kms
    Worst = 220kms

    probably just as good if not better than most 250cc bikes in fuel useage

    Buell XB12X absolutely standard. I average 21km/l on every tank. It's the most economical bike I've owned.

    CBR600F4i was the most uneconomical at around 14km/l average. Oddly enough I found 98 had worse economy than 95 with that bike.

    That's about 85mpg.
    I just don't believe it - esp round town, stops and starts hot and cold idling etc etc.
    None of the 50cc bikes I owned ever got close to that
    and Suzuki advertise their scooters at 75mpg.

    Take a lot of these figures with a grain of salt

    thats not odd..thats bastard EU tightening the restrictions, makes your engine burn more fuel to get rid of the excess sulphur in the exhaust via the catalytic converter..don't quote me, though..its just what i kinda remember being told haha

    Thumbs up

    Around 17km/l around town and 24km/l riding as easy as possible on the open roads (ie constant 100kmh for 30+ minutes.

    Road to Cape Reinga from Napier and I used slightly more petrol on my 150 than my dads 650. Was not happy as I had to add two stroke oil to that. Gah I guess that's what I get for buying a two stroke.

    Actually I'm guessing that it comes from Europe (where I come from) and growing up my dad and actually everyone refers to fuel consumption as L/100k so yea , may have come here with da Immugrints

    No, that's about right for a small, 4-stroke single round town. I get 30 km/l from my Scorpio round town, and that's over a very hilly route.

    Are the 50cc bikes and scooters you're referring to 2-strokes?

    What people call "intuition" is usually just what they're used to.

    At least l/100 km is a measure of fuel *consumption* rather than its inverse. There was a BMW ad in America a few years back referring to the fact that they cut the fuel supply completely at high speed on the overrun. The title was "0 mpg at 100 mph". There's one ad-writer who doesn't find the mpg scale intuitive!

    Anyway, as long as you remember the litre/100 km and km/l scales cross at a value of 10 you'll be sweet.
