Dressing the Viffer, plus I need a WOF

basically, my car is full of fairings and a tank which i bought today

will finish at uni around 5pm

then gotta put her all back together again

i might appreciate a helping hand

and to get a wof, do they check the park lights? one is blown and the other is broken, still waiting for new ones from japan (stupid non-standard parts from the '80s)

i would go to WWH seeing as i ordered the bulbs through them, but then they'd measure the rear disc thickness and most likely fail me

and yes, it's about bloody time

i think it's more who you get

i've had one guy let me (on the vfr) off with bald tyres and he didn't check the brake pads cause he couldn't see them easily... didn't notice the tragic state of my rear disc

next wof at the same place (on the fxr this time) involved a full check of the entire chassis with a flashlight for rust, measured brake discs, checked pads, tyres, even the yoke bearings

Last time my hrn broke on the way and Isaid oh, can I please have a sticker anyway? Andd they were like 'yeah, ok, just make sure you fix that though'.

Then I lost it and they had to make a new one.

    stickers are cool.

No there can't be TWO pink VFRs! Chris has alread yreserved that colour for his spare- spare racing set

and PS, pink would clash with the red rims

turns out the brake lights don't respond to the front brake

and the battery is charging right now

buy a disc? i'm looking at a wreck down near hamilton - going to get a spare set of rims for some slicks/track tyres, plus the rear disc if it's cheap and in good nick

i also need yet another mirror as one of the bolts just came out of the old one...

but on the plus side, my WOF says it doesn't expire till the 13th december 2008 cause i got a new sticker and the chick at the desk didn't get an old 2007 one

so that should keep the wardens happy, not that they bother looking

as for insurance... well fingers crossed

oh, and these fairings i bought are infact originals from '89. now i always thought the fibreglass ones were difficult to put on, but holy crap these are MUCH worse - though there's no risk of scratching nor need to lean the bike over/pick it off the ground

the tank has clearly been repainted at some point, and whoever did the masking should be sacked. whoever missed a spot with the white AND clear should be sacked too. plus i can't get the "vfr400rnc30" permanent marker off...

Yep that's right and don't be fooled by the idea that motorcycle specific WOF places are gonna be more lenient.

I've got my Katana done at VTNZ at Mt Wellington and I'll tell you what he didn't do.

Didn't check the front wheel bearings or the rear wheel bearings
    Didn't check the tread depth
    Didn't check the horn

Took my blade to VTNZ Parnell and was out in 7 mins with a wof sticker. I did all the test myself ask me to do this and that. Guess they just didnt wanna touch my bike which I think is good.

Hey Andrew love the pink ...bling bling....
