Talking Well here we go : 2-minute 2 colour paint job! Woohoo!

This is a story of 1 bike, several people, 2 colours, 2 days, and 1 damn spontaneous spray can paint job!

OK so for those of you who weren't there, I was at Stephen's fix-it arvo/evening/night/early morning .

Didn't really have much I wanted to do, check out some electrics, maybe get the front wheel off to paint the mudguard black finally, yeah just was there to see everyone have a good time. Anyway, after maybe an hour of checking out electrics and just mucking around, it occured to me (well maybe Sophie and Hannah) that hmmm why don't I just paint the entire bike again, a different colour, hey why not two colours! So Sophie gets on to designing and I and some others get on to removing the fairings while Shaun comes straight from work with 6 spray cans (2 each colour including clear coat) and some sandpaper and um, Hannah goes babysitting .

So yeah I get sick of prepping pretty quickly, they aint great fairings so aren't worth too much time and effort, and I'm certainly not a perfectionist like Andrew! After a bit of cleaning and sanding I get onto spraying it completely black, 3 coats is enough for me. Let it dry and then we get onto masking taping up the design and get ready to put on the next colour, RED! Spray the front fairing and fuck me, it looks cool as! Kinda a red with black speckled all through it... Hmmm this could actually do the trick! Spray the rest of the fairings just one coat of red, with many runs and drips and unevenness(sp?) in order to create my um, complex custom paint job?

The fix it arvo has turned into maybe 12:30am and it's just me, Soph, Stephen, and Hannah has returned. We call it a night, clean up the mess and that's that. I head round the next arvo to break into Stephen's house (TV and lights all on, his door unlocked, one door open, noone home?) and find his remote to open the garage (btw, he did know about this, I'm not THAT South Auckland!). It's raining so me, Soph, and Shaun do 3 clear coats fairing by fairing under the slight shelter we had outside the garage. By now I'm kinda over doing all this! Do the last coat and go have BK. Come back and Dushy has jumped the gate and trying to steal Shaun's bike which has the steering lock on, not to mention a chain. No worries Dush, your bike will be up and running soon! Shaun and I chuck the fairings back on after a lot of no no this bolt not this one either ahhh here we go! And we are off once again.

This morning I'm at Soph's and like noone's home and it's pouring down and I can't get my bike . Finally my Dad finishes work this arvo and drops me at Stephen's to grab my bike and I head out to Karaka, take some photos for you guys, and here I am now! So here ya go

Oh, and never got around to that DAMN mudguard dag nammit!!! Will have to wait till the next paint job grrr!

Lol just remember, I'm not trying to make them look brand new or anything at all, just wanted a bit of colour!!!

I'd like to say thanks a shitload to Stephen for the night and use of his place, and thanks a truckload to Shaun, Andrew, Kyle, Hannah and Sophie for all your advice, help, and time!

    Fukn awesome!!

    It actually does look cool!

Is it a flame job or tiger stripes?

P.S. More like "2 hours" job not a couple of minutes

If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.

I reckon it looks better in person, will be interesting to see what the colours are like in direct sunlight.

At least the red wrapping around the front helps the front guard blend in a little better than it used too.

I'm thinking the rims need a new coat of paint now, a nice coat of black would help them blend in nice, but thats just me being picky.

That's the complex custom paint job man! I could have done it straight red, but I reckon it looks cool patchy styles, like looking into a fireplace!

Haha yeah, the RR for RagingRob, and CBR RR but not, that'd be pretty funny. Maybe on the side of the front fairing kinda beside the lights but to the side of the bike! What colour?
