    SMC L-Plate riders' practice thread

Hi all, Guess I am the only active n00b in SMC but I thought to make thread like this would be useful.

The purpose of this thread is for those Learner riders in SMC to post when they want to do practice in car parks with senior members of SMC.

For places to practice refer: http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...ad.php?t=54559

So, what you think guys? Is it gonna be useful at all?????

Ok, so heres first L-plate rider's request....
Anyone free after 1pm on this Saturday?

im happy to help if you guys need me

i can personally tell ya that three kings is a shite place to practice....if you have come that far, you may as well go a lil bit further down the road to cameron pools parking lot.....generally empty on sundays and has a massive flat area

have you heard about the wednesday night rides? they tend to go practice up in the albany megacentre's massive car parks with empty roads and roundabouts too

try to find somewhere with few cars to dent/annoy. maybe try some netball courts or something like that? (there was/is some good, big ones at my old high school that were empty most weekends)

what are the airport carparks like? last time i was there there was a few big empty areas

then there's subdivisions that are yet to have their immaculate roads opened. just squeeze/push past the barriers and there's a mini neighbourhood to go roving WITHOUT all the mums doing shcool runs in huge 4WDs ripping up the perfect surface and trucks dumping diesel everywhere

I can't go on Wednesday nights, and guessing some of other learners can't.

Im also happy to help new riders out with some carpark lessons/advice, feel free to drop me a pm,
When you have enough confidence to get out on the open road then check out the 250 friendly rides that I organise, they are great for building your skills and meeting other riders at similar skill levels.
