Who lives in taupo here? thinking about moving down....

Well I've lived somewhere near the Coromandel for the last 2 years but before that we were 20 years in Taupo..
Still own a house there and will shift back one day.
Taupo is a relatively modern town,there is always something happening.
Like...Iron man..round the lake bike ride [huge event] ..A1GP..power boat racing..MotoTT..biggest tandem parachute operation in the WORLD..trout fishing..snow skiing..plenty night clubs..one set of traffic lights..
But it has a cold as winter that seems to go on forever.
So what did you want to know....?

Just been there for the week and really love how close the motox park is and seems if you have a key you can ride? someone can prove me wrong here, but every day someone was riding... not to bad about the cold, just find myself a nice modern house with gas haha but otherwise thanks

Piece of paradise,mate (except in the winter when there's a good frost and -1 or -2 degs outside) and some good trail riding, organised and otherwise close by.
Plenty of house bargains if you look carefully and prepared to haggle aggressively.
What do you do for a job? market's a bit tight here at the moment depending on what you do.

I do sky installations and run my own audio/visual company, might see if they need a sky tech down there

If it was practical for me to work in Taupo, I'd move there without hesitation.

One of the most beautiful locations in the North Island, IMHO.

Yeh its beautiful alright, was there all week and sat was the best day of the lot, no clouds in the sky and was out on the snow just mint... but yeh just have to see if i can work down there...
