They will all but very few, be poo. They're all 25 years old.

Get the measurements of yours, (you can add 10mm in eye to eye length on them sefely with a VJ21) and mount configuration, and get something modern.

I've got an RF900 shock that has been re gassed and had new oil in it (which is what is likely wrong with yours). Will possibly bolt straight in, but I'm not 'giving' it away.

Muzza have a look on the RGV sites, or ask RGVSteve I think people were doing stuff with R6 stuff.

being that an RGV is like 150kg & an RF is like 250kg (feels like more) is that a reasonable idea to suggest it?
Don't you look at my accountant.

Yep. Springs are easy to get, and the first thing anyone setting up a bike should be making sure is right anyway.

yeah but lighter springs on a shock set up like a bus would be like treacle and pack down.

Muz please tell me you aren't going to ride greymouth with the same shock you had at bob? It looked scarey as fook at bob!

Its harder to lose weight than gain horsepower.

Strictly speaking, absolutely! But since most shocks are too soft for the track, it will likely be a huge improvement.

The biggest thing to watch for is the curve of the rising rate. I know from experience that there's fuck all in it between the two Linkage set ups.

Long and the short of it. Spring, oil, gas the standard one and the difference will be day and night. Plus, he'll know what he's got.

It will be OK, won't be cornering as fast (lol) at Greymouth, it was predictable at BoB, bounced/skipped a lot, but never really let go.
Had a PM and got a newer one sorted, all good.

    Cheers

    WTB Kawasaki KE125 motor

Putting it here too, to cover all the bases...

WTB Kawasaki KE125 bottom end or complete motor. Ideally I'd like a complete set of cases/crank/box but will buy complete motor if necessary.

    Thanks

    Greg

One of my friends is after a bucket, a FXR150 or CBR150.
Let me know what you or any of your mates have via PM if you're looking to sell.

    Cheers!

Got a mate looking for a rm125 rear shock or something similar. The shaft in his is damaged and has turned it into a pogo stick. Eye centres are about 445mm he said.
