I thought they were having trouble with the foundations at Hampton Downs and that is the reason why the track hasn't even been started with having tarmac being put down on it.
If thats the case then there is no way it will be ready in June.

They want 60 days after laying the asphalt before anyone uses it.
Yes, 4 groups.
Superbike school dates start in September.
Other trackday companies are shit outta luck as far as i'm aware.

Can you imagine being there and looking at all the beautiful fresh smooth tarmac and not being able to use it for 60 days. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
It would be hell.
It will be awesome if it all goes ahead!

Excpt it will be slippery as all buggery untill there is some rubber on the track.. and that means carsThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote![]()
Agreed... remember the early problems at Taupo before some decent rubber was laid down. It's not till they have a few good car meetings that the track will be of any great use to bikes, but then you don't want V8's going out there too early as they'll just ripple the surface up and make it virtually one line in every corner for us.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. I've done a number of CSS ride days at both Eastern Creek and Philip Island... these guys are very good and have a great operation going. I'm really looking forward to giving Hampton Downs a go on a ride day, and then doing the four levels of training at with the CSS.
Hiring a bike and all the gear for a day is roughly $400AU. There is a big wedge that they 'hold' on your credit card for the day just in case you ditch the bike... but no one is going to wreck one of those nice new Gixxer 6's.
Can I get a 180 knobly for my 1100???This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote![]()

it was a sunday and there were only 2 bulldozers working.
looks like they have built the cement plant they needed. and the bridge looks like its finished, just not assembled yet.
im hoping that the track is not more expensive then the gas, tyres and entry fees to travel to a taupo track day and back!
blaaaah blaaaaahhhhhh fooookkneooow
They're gixxers... There's no way they'll stay rubber side up for more than a weekThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote![]()
Personally I cant wait to get an international circuit just down the road from me, the web site makes it look awesome. As for being ready in June.......no chance in hell from what I can see. Its taken contractors months to complete 400mtrs of new road of Lincoln road ,West Auckland and it still isnt open yet. What chance of a whole circuit in only a couple of months?
Looks like trackdays will cost $200This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Heyyyy! Kiwi Rider Magazine too.
I made the ads :-)
You'd have to ask Darren about costs and dates - he's cool - ring him.

Great looking Ad Dav, I just honestly cant see the track being ready by June. August- September is definatly more viable tho.
