I'd rather be sorry for something I've done, than for something I didn't do.
The low pressure system leftover from queenslands cyclone is still lurking about so it might be a wet weekend, but i could be keen if it clears by the end of the week.

This is a good site to check before planning a longer route if you're looking to avaid roadworks...
Yep Friday is the planned leaving day, largely to provide that rest day on Monday.
It'll be a mid to late morning departure on Friday, due to a couple of commitments.
Accommodation is in Taupo on both nights - no partying at the accommodation, although sure there are party places around in Taupo.
We are not aiming to find gravel, although the Saturday tentative route (i.e. unplanned explore) may find a little bit.
By funnest roads we mean sealed corners between 35s and 65s.

3 day trip would be awesome but unfortunately cant find a sitter for that long nut for anyone interested a few mates and i are trying to organise a day trip round the coro loop sun or mon if anyone's keen to join us,will put up details once they're confirmed
Only have 3 beds free on Friday night in our unit as it takes 6. And Saturday the motel has another 2 beds in other rooms.
It's on the outskirts. Taupo a not exactly big so can always scatter the accommodation and meet in the mornings for breakfast!!
What's the point in living if you don't feel alive?
Toying with ones mortality shouldn't be this much fun.
It's looking like I'd better take the rain suit.
At least the roads will be washed of grease and oil...

Friday's weather looks grim all round, so we've cancelled the accommodation booking in Taupo just for Friday night.
The new plan is to leave Auckland early Saturday morning, potentially go to Gisborne, then stay in Taupo on Saturday night. Then wind our way back to Auckland on Sunday.
Who's keen?
