Pretty sure i saw Murray and Trina on Te rapa straight around 4:30 as i was heading north to paintball. Hope ya had a good ride!
Was a great day for a ride and pity some more could not join us. The Bikes, Blues and BBQ was pretty good for a first year event. Good live music, good food, good atmosphere and lots of bikes coming and going. A real mixture of bikes and all good fun. Definately go again next year.

was a nice day of racing on Sunday at Hampton Downs .. although they need shade there desperately !!
Went Saturday & watched practice, qualifying & the first 5 races of the weekends programme. Some great viewing & wicked racing. Caught a few too many rays though, some shade would be good. Good day in Devenport with the blues n bikes event.
If you don't know where you are going , any road will get you there ............
Went both days, great weekend! Good to see a Hyo doing well against the SVs too.
What are everyones plans this weekend?
I am taking a Ulysses ride "Taumarunui The Long Way Round" Leaving Te Awamutu Caltex at9.30 am this Sunday 4 April. Morning tea at Whakamaru and then down the western Access Kuratau Junction and then accross the hill on SH 41 to Taumarunui. It will be an open ride across SH 41. Lovely peice of road . Lots of 55 km sweepers.
Lunch in Taumarunui to follow.
If interesed rock up on Sunday morning. Please note this ride will run at about 105 to 110 Km's Just under the radar.
4 Wheels move the body. 2 Wheels move the soul
Very small turn out last night and no ride planned so if anyone is looking for a ride on Sunday I suggest they go with Jims group as mentioned in previous post. Bit sad not seeing some of the regular faces anymore but so be it.
Heres a link to the official photos of the bike, bbq and blues ride 7 of us went to on Sunday. Twas a great day

I dunno if I'll be riding this weekend or not. Absolutely shagged after my 2 weeks down south. Might be getting a few things done on the house (again) since wifey and little1 are staying in New Plymouth for the weekend. Might drag wifey's bike out to give it some fresh air.
Keep us posted if anything else is planned. That way I can pick and choose whos doing the best route![]()
Hey guys
Doing my restricted in 1 week - been counting it down for ages!
I assume it'll be pretty straight forward but would appreciate any feedback from anyone who has done their restricted in Hamilton recently.
Like the route they use, headset or watch for indicators, specific things they might look out for etc.
Cheers for any feedback (smartarse comments most welcome!)
All going well no more L-plate ...

The restricted one is a piece of cake. Check if the tester wants you to travel at 100 when needed. A small percentage of testers so stay at 70 max,but the logical ones want to see if you can handle "the speed" of 100, so it's best to ask before hand.
The restricted is a piece of cake though, just emphasis head turning and looking in mirrors, look down side roads and give yourself plenty of room.
As for the headset, they put some pressure on your ears and most of the testers can't even use them properly. My tester would speak before pushing the button! Which you can imagine is an asshole when they're only telling you one word instructions like right of left. I missed turns because of the moron. I thought if I gave him a lesson he might take offense. So just be prepared for it. I stopped and told the guy I couldn't hear anything so went to the indicators on the car. Much easier then putting up with him yelling down the radio. (The dick head asked me if I knew my right from left!!)
The u-turn would be the only tricky thing, usually done in a dead-end street though.
You'll be sweet, it's just like riding a bike![]()
