The testers don't have much sense of humour do they?

AWESOME! Good one Dazz, that sucker was totally trying to tear itself off on the ride the other day, flapping around like nana's bloomers in a Wellington gale. Maybe we need to make a thread for 'uses for old L plates' (similar to the 'uses for old tyres' one). I suggest trying to shrink it in the oven and turning it into a blingin' necklace (or keychain for the less metro-sexual). Now... 90 days to freedom!!

Test route was similar to that described by sil3ntwar.
Made one dumb mistake: Ruakura Rd 80 km zone - so busy trying not to go 5kph over the 50km speed limit that I was halfway along Ruakura Rd before I remembered I was in an 80km zone!!
The tester didn't have a great sense of humour when I told her i nearly had a heart attack realising what I dumb mistake I made - "it's very important to comply with the posted speed limit signs".
Top job mate. I hope you fully let out the "stinger" on your beast when you realized you were going to slow? haha

My R tester was reasonably relaxed didn't really joke with him though, but my Full Tester was a legend. Funny as hell (well for a tester) and was a biker too. Was telling me how he would fly past idiot car drivers at 120 just to scare the shit out of them. He had a giggle when I got confused with something while riding (didn't know which exit to take on a round-about).

He would be rare though. The Hamilton ones are dickheads I've heard.

With the Hotel really busy this weekend (V8's) I probably won't be riding and the following weekend I am off to the BFTP Motorcycle group rally in Napier. If you want to put up a calendar entry for a Kawhia run on Sunday go for it. Its pretty easy to do. Happy for you guys to meet in the carpark as per the norm.

    Pub tonight yahoo!!!

Thoughts on a ride for Sunday are pretty mixed - most are busy weith V8's etc. Suggestions were raglan via Waingaro road (great piece of road ) or Kawhia. I won't be there but anyone interested turn up at 10.00 am at Kingsgate Hotel back car park.

hey chaps...great to see some more 250cc riders in the group. I'll be down for next Sundays ride assuming my Honda is up and running from sitting still for 3 months.

Also what does rego cost these days? aparently it went up in April due to ACC levies...
You can ride a motorcycle any time of the month

According to the NZ Transport Agency (former LTSA) website, they are still the same (as last year) at this point:
    Petrol driven - over 61cc 86.00 (3 months) 164.41 (6 months) 321.24 (12 months)

Maybe someone who has just re-licensed can confirm what they paid?

Hope you had fun over in the land of plenty. Buy your rego now before it does go up (which I actually thought it was going up this month as well)
