Not sure who you would go to ..... maybe talk to LTSA and they can advise on the procedure to alert a vehicle defect in NZ here, but consumers institute surely would know.
I recon print off the overseas info you found and talk to the NZ distributor of the bike, show then pics of your frame and failure and the comparable overseas recall photos to show its their failure not rough treatment, even a roughly ridden bike should handle the frame stresses.

Suggest to them you are planning to take it to Consumers, the LTSA and media and I'm sure they will do all they can to "keep you quiet" might get a new bike out of it, to repair yours would require re-certification and all the bullshit that goes with it

If I get a few hours sleep, I may meet up with you all at Kihikihi.

Also if anyone does breakdown in the area, I always have my trailer to go out and pick up. Have a heavy plank as a ramp.

If you lot are going to be riding right past my house there really is no excuse not to sort my shit out and finally tag along. I am really getting sick of busting my arse working around the house as bike after bloody bike goes past , thinking to myself 'whos the bloody mug here ?.

+1 to BigAl's comment - apart from the lack of bikes at the MANGAKINO stopover - and the slow chips ! Murray better watch out - his runs are getting a reputation for breaking bikes !

    Awesome ride today thanks Mil's.

Unfortunately I had a lil whoopsy........ with a bit of help thanks to a fellow rider ........... he reached his arm out to my 12 yr old pillion for a fist pump, my son leaned right out to try and connect with the other rider, the leaned was enough for me to lose the bALANCE OF MY BIKE and we went over!! thank god we weren't moving We are both fine, but my bike suffered some deep scratches and broke the end of the gear lever off..... was a lil hard riding home with out the nobbie bit that you use to change gear.

I slept pass the time of the ride. Phill and I went for a late run this afternoon. Through Maungatatari, Arapuni, a bite at Putaruru then back thru' Waotu rd to Te A. Lots of bikes on the road.
