We went all the way down Heatherington road until it met with SH22 - If you look at the calendar ride it will tell you the short cut ride

We are hopeing that some of the King Country crew might join us and show us around their back roads. If not we will make a decision where to go which may even include Ohura and Taumarunui or Kopaki Road and then to Aria. I am hoping that Shafty might turn up. He lives at Matiere these days.
Ride on for this Sunday coming if anyone interested

Might be able to slot this one in. Pretty much finished the deck railing (some 2+ months later) and the bike should actually be rego'd. The old man will be keen if his bike/leg/whatever still isn't playing up. Heading out today or tomorrow to have a look at an Intruder 250 for Mumsy so may add her to the mix also if we can tear her away from the phone. In saying that, it'll probably just be me

Has anyone tried riding a cruiser (like real cruiser-cruiser) after riding a sportsbike? Holy crap, where'd the bloody pegs go?!?!?!?! It seems unnatural pulling away from a stop and not just lifting your leg straight up to put on the peg. What's with this peg's-all-the-way-by-the-front-wheel bollucks? Crazy stuff. haha

I started out on road bikes 20 years ago and now back on cruisers. After 10 months of riding it I am still finding it hard to take the corners - so thinking of flicking it off for a road bike.

Well, after owning sports bikes for most of my life, I just recently bought a brand new Bonneville. I guess that qualifies for a cruiser...???
I've spent my money on bikes, booze and babes. The rest I've wasted....

Weeelllll, I got a Triumph... And, no, haven't gone mad. just mid life crises me thinks.

Plus I always liked Bonnevilles, ever since my father took me to see Great Escape when I was a little lad. The king of cool rode one, so I always wanted one ever since.

I wish. A, too expensive and all pre sold. Naah, just the A1 Mag model with megaphone pipes. Don't like the P shooters. Thruxton would have been nice but I think Bonnie looks nicer. And i got a good deal

Na Bonnies don't count. Their pegs are in the right place

Yip gotta do the megaphones. Personally, I would have gone Thruxton over bonnie.

Gold??? [scampers to Mr Google for some question answering]

Now that is a cool colour. I dig that a lot.

With my short rides I've done on them for the last few days, I find I just lean on the corners as opposed to the Daytona were I attack them. Of course, that's mainly how I've been taught but there's not way I could ride the same. You certainly just cruise on them. I couldn't imagine trying to go nuts on one.

Funny thing is that apparently you can modify the Bonnie to become Thruxton, Most parts are interchangable.

I originally wanted black colour but there were aparently none in the country, so I would have to wait 3-4 weeks and pay bit more $$. This Gold one has grown on me and was a shop demo with only 300 kms on the clock. Got a sweet deal, free 12mnths reg, free servicing and a leather Triumph Jacket.

Which all up would have been around $1500 or so. So was pretty happy
