I followed a taxi in the big city once so that I wouldn't get lost, I figured that seeing a he was heading in the same direction, why not? But here is why not, he run a red light and I lost him. After a few random left and right turns, I saw a building that I recognised.

    Te Awamutu evening ride

There is a road ride leaving Wilkspenny motorcycles in Te A on Wednesday 5.30pm. Just a 1- 1.5 hr ride. They attempt to do a ride every 2nd Wednesday. Apparently they follow the local roads. Had quite a few turn up for their last ride. I might roll up and see how it pans out.

I had a good close-up look at the underside of a harrier's wings on Monday. He crossed in front off roadkill and was a little slow on gaining altitude. Closest I have ever been to one. Pity I didn't have the camera aboard the helmet.

    Them's big dudes.

Well...the truck coming the other way took that. Narrow bit of road at the western end of Scotsman Valley Road. I doubt Mr Harrier had much left to go back to.

I didn't think I wanted it enough to risk diving in front of the truck.

Going to ride down to the Waihora Lagoon tomorrow morning. Just past the Tihoi store.

Returning from Putaruru this afternoon, Pearson road,

    The gate keeper.

Little Waipa stream. Water looked lovely.

Bloody good Big bugger Trout in that little bit of water, fished that river for years, always got a good feed and most often a big ol hornery Rainbow, occasionally a Brown.

Left home about 4.30am. A rather 'brisk' ride. 285k all up.

    Lake Whakamaru.

    Tihoi country.

    Maha-kino.

The Waihora Lagoon wasn't anything startling. The 7k goat track into it from the main road was interesting.

    From your picky.
Nah, we own the road, don't you know, its a short cut, no one else is up at this hour. Did you forget to put the pot roast on?

Hear that motorcycle coming up behind us? - well show him, he cant overtake.

(deleted the image because Gremlin maybe watching.....)

Havent seen timber like that for ages, its a wonder there is much left...

You should let the Police have look at the photo Arthur, they are more than willing to speak drivers who think it's ok to be on the other side of the road for no good reason.
We travel a lot with work and are thinking of getting a Go Pro for the car, we see so much that kind of driving.

I'm surprised that this corner of the Pureora forest park was left. It was great to look out from the path and see so many big mature Kikitea's, Rimu's and Matai's still standing.

I have next weekend off so will probably head off somewhere. I had thought of riding back roads to Ohura, Taumarunui Ongarue, Waimiha. Bear in mind, on a small bike I go slower than someone on a sportsbike.
