It was my 1st try with the new contours camera. I recorded in SD as my laptop hasn't the grunt to play HD.

Will probably look to go for a run this Sunday. Has anyone got a planned ride?

Te Kawa Crossroads to Waipapa Rd via Ngaroma Rd - One of the best bits of twisties in the Waikato IMO - great scenery , little traffic , the roads generally in good nick - superb!! If you've never done it, youre missing a real treat
If you don't know where you are going , any road will get you there ............

If anyones looking for a ride on Sunday Ulysses are leaving Caltex in Te Awamutu at 10.30 heading via Waitomo to Kawhia for lunch. Again this is a very good ride and some excellent roads.

Nearly due for a mid winter LOR Breakfast and Ride - will let you know!!

Still good numbers attending the Te Rapa Tavern clubrooms on Wednesdays. See you there

It's not any one persons job to come up with a run. Post up a notice of where you're going on any Sunday and see if others want to join in.

I've done just that a couple of times. I also keep an eye on what the Ulysses are doing. Their runs are usually damn good. I'd go on their ride tomorrow, but as my bikes rego has just run out, I'll give it a miss. They like their ride participants to have legal machines.

I went on a ride with STJim once. Both he and his partner were not to happy when I told them my rego had run out the day before. They said they wouldn't have let me on the ride if they had known

    Ride was

Actually do owe him $5 for lunch.

You slack-arse you! Go pay the man.

I got the morning to ride in tomorrow - need to be back around midday. Might be cloudy from looking at the metservice page but should be dry in the am. I hope.

Don't think I'll do the Ulysses thing though...10.30 start is leaving it a little late for me. Lazy bastards should get their arses out of bed earlier!

I forgotten what the set of your rego was. Lunch was our pleasure that day about 18 months ago if I recall.

I remember a ride out Mangakino with LOR and when we parked up by a cafe that sold cold pies, someone was going around checking the regos. I'm all for paying regos because if I have to pay then so should everyone else but what business is it of someone else besides law enforcement to do the checks - unless of course its in the "rules".

Then again it maybe in the rules as I recall Murray and Trina checking my license the first day I met them.
Its a hard position to be in as ride organisers - we had two unlicensed people come off on pye's par road one day. They came off because of inexperience. People organising a ride do hold some responsibility to the people who attend, even if its only a moral one. Personally i reckon that everyone owns their fate and responsibility is soley on them but the reality is that picking people out of a ditch sucks whether it was your responsibility or not.

    The real question is where do you stop? pick a spot in the middle from;
Explaining to all riders that they are responsible for their life and should ride within their ability and not try to keep up.
    and
Checking licences, registration, warrant of fitness, quality of gear, break disc thickness, shock absorber settings.
