We're out. Guess we're going to be up north all weekend. Bugger.
Every day above ground is a good day!:
I was all set to come - plan was to get WOF saturday morning; Ive had a problem with the rear indicator soetimes working ans sometimes not - pulled it apart and repaired, then replace a lamp in the after market front indicator - do you think I could get a lamp for it anywhere!!!
Repco in Te rapa told me there was 3 at the branch in town - go there they tell me they have none but Te Rapa have 3? ring Te rapa the guy finds them and holds them at the counter - i get there - wrong type, even a different part number ...WTF
Boydes who sell the aftermarket indicators don't carry the replacement lamps? Nothing at Supercheap
Now on order
No WOF - all for lack of a lamp
might go for a drive instead

I managed to get out today with Mr. Carver. Headed down the Waingaro Rd from Ngaruawahia, headed to Raglan for a coffee once we hit the 23 and then came back to Hamilton via the divvy. Nice ride, not too much traffic

A wee way off yet, but I'm thinking of riding down to New Plymouth on Saturday 13 June to take in the Chiefs v Hurricaines game. I'll be riding back after the game. Should be a good day/night ride. Probably leave Te A about 2pm, couple of burgers for tea.
I had thought of an alternative ride to Eden park on the Friday night before to watch the Highlanders have a practice run against the Blues. The friday night traffic sort of kills the attraction of that. Plus which, I'd probably get sat behind the Highlanders goalposts and have to watch the game through binoculars.

Mate - this time of year returning from NP at night - make sure your have enough layers on and good winter cloves, there'll be ice in the gorge and Mt Messenger. Use to do the ride a lot a while back - Just about froze solid a few times
If I were going down I'd book in somewhere and make it a pleasant ride home the next day
I'm over being hard

That's not a bad idea. Return via the forgotten highway on Sunday. Actually, I was just about to think of that myself.
Winter riding doesn't bother me at all. In July I have a midnight ride to Wellington for breakfast jacked up. A re-enactment of a ride two of us did 20 years ago. Same mate is going to do it again this time.
