Acosta has had a big crash at Turn 7 during warmup. He's OK but the bike and that air fence will need some work. Sounds like another damp patch.
Should they be racing if damp patches keep appearing like this?

Luckily club level is still pretty open as regards rules.
The most heavily regulated motorsport would be Karts. If it isn't in the book you can't do it. Period.
I used to run into a mate - now dead - who was NZ Fed President and for a while Oceania Pres too.
I always gave him a hard time about how tight the Kart regs were - but after doing it once I never again quoted
an area they hadn't touched. 6 months after I mentioned it, it was a closed loophole.
MM had his pressures set for leading the race and couldn't follow close for very long. It looked like he'd dropped behind slightly when Bagnaia put in the fastest lap of the race and was too far behind at the start of the final lap.
I'm sure MM wanted the win, but a 2nd in his 4th race on a Ducati is good progress. Good to see Bez is back!

I think that he actually broke the lap record even (by .3 of a sec or something), and MM was only about .1 slower and would have also broken the lap record - this is from memory, it might have been the the race lap but the same applies, MM would have broken it too. That's fast.
On Crash.net they were pointing out that MM was probably being a little conservative because he couldnt afford another crash, and also he seems to be able to go faster than the other Duc's later in the race when his tyres are a bit more worn (they said)

Oxley has made an interesting comment. Apparently Michelin have brought tyres to the test. Oxley feels though that the teams will prioritise their own new parts and may treat the tyres as an afterthought.

Ahh. Dammit. I got the email about that but I've read too many articles within a month. Not going to buy a subscription as the rest is for car stuff I won't even skim read.

one part of that read suggests it may be 5 years before Honda and Yamaha are competitive again. The rationale comes from the fact that Ducati had 5 winless years before becoming dominant.
