Is it about now I start worrying about SpeedoJosh drowning my bike?

Damn! If we were on to this sooner we could have made sure he looked like a lollie pop in a fruit salad bowl

Hey all. Everyone have a fantastic time, good luck and enjoy the scenery. IT IS NOT A RACE, so take care and have some fun out there. I think you are going to get all four seasons in a weekend, so that's a bonus! Wish I could have ridden this myself this year but there will be other rides and looking forward to 2014. Great job Ryan and company!
Have fun, take lots of photos and videos and share those hard luck stories on the return.......
More exciting than the Dakar, so I will be watching this thread.....

    Text from Struan...

09:22 Josh the yank crashed on Spur Rd. I have taken him to Timaru Hospital with suspected broken shoulder. All under control and got his bike and gear etc.

10:07 Luckily just dislocated. One more xray then on our way.

    Watching vicariously from Melbourne

Pleased the American visitor has not suffered a break - thanks for providing info Nordie and Struan for being the Good Samaritan as always

Sounds as though the event is fast and furious for some at least

Hope all have a great time - with you all in spirit at least

Just got home after bearing failing just out of Fairlie - gutted but lucky didn't happen in the boonies or at speed.

Fortunate to meet a farmer who did a temporary fix to get me home.

Had a good time on the 680 K's did yesterday - cheers Matt for organizing the sheep station runs And R for the Dusty - cracker meal last night

Good to put some faces to usernames ...

    Shame abought speedo josh

Maybe he thought the Dusty was "Route 66"??

But then it again -- the crash could,ve happened to anyone.

I think that Southern hospitality was outstanding, --- getting him all set up.

You guys responsible are just "something else"

Keep the info posted guys, ---- us armchair riders tongue,s are hangin out for any snippet.

Weather -- river levels --- snow on Awakino --- Woodman in puddles -- KTM breakdowns -- etc -- etc.

    Hell! -- I wish I wus there.

    Hi Fellas.

So you know about Speedo Josh. Dislocated shoulder but XF650 looked after him and brought him down to Alex to have a beer with the crew. Good on ya XF650.

Other injury is the lady pillioning on a 990adv. She was off to Oamaru for xray for suspected broken foot. Unfortunately don't remember their names.

wx all good. lots of sun. bit of wind over Awakino saddle and couple of spots of rain near omakau.

best bit, lots of positive feedback so far.

wx looking bit damp tomorrow. fingers crossed no snow.

better go put my number plate back on!
