North Auckland Street Skills
From New Zealand Motorcycle Wiki
North Auckland Street Skills (NASS) is a free practical training session that runs every Wednesday. You will need to already have a motorcycle licence (learners is fine - and common) and your own bike to ride.
The sessions are run in two parts. You can attend either or both parts. They occur regardless of the weather. If the weather is exceptionally bad then the meeting still occurs, but typically becomes a theory session.
- The first part part of NASS is an on-road ride. Riders meet at 6:30pm at the Shell Westgate at the end of the North Western motorway for a 7pm departure. The ride route will be discussed at the time (although most riders simply follow the person in front of them).
- The ride ends at the Albany Mega Centre car park, near the Noel Lemming's and the Burger King, for the second part of the session. For those wanting to attend only the second part it typically starts at 7:30pm, and runs for 1 hour. The second part varies every week, but typically focuses on a specific rider skill.
At the conclusion of the session attendants typically go to Bar Africa, which is on William Pickering Drive (near the corner of Bush Road) in the Albany Industrial Estate.
