Pukekohe Park Open Testing Days
General Info
Pukekohe Park Raceway hold "Controlled Testing" days - open track days with minimal marshalling. There is an ambulance on site for safety and a track controller is in charge, but the format is basically "pay the money and run what you brung". Typically testing sessions are divided into four groups:
- Road Cars
- Race Cars
- Open Wheelers
- Motorcycles
Note that road bikes and race bikes go out together. There doesn't have to be four groups, but that's how it usually pans out. Sometimes if there is a major race meeting the following day they will get their own testing sessions (NZ V8s or the like)
There are toilets on site, and an ambulance in attendance.
The wrecker's truck is there to help clean up if you fall off.
Bring your own lunch, the food stalls are not open.
Start time is 10:30am, finish is 4:30pm. Usually that amounts to around 5 20 minute sessions each group, unless there are less groups in which case you get more sessions each.
If you want to get into one of the covered pit garages on pit lane it pays to get there early because there aren't that many and they go quick - (I don't know how early, I've never been there that early myself...)
