The "car" ferry runs roughly every 20 minutes of the day between Opua (near Pahia and it is sign posted) and Okiato (maybe 15 minutes from Russell). Just turn up and catch the ferry rather than worrying about catching a particular sailing. It costs $20 return and you can't make a booking. If you have a pillion then it will cost them $2 return. You have to pay by CASH on the ferry. There is no EFTPOS available.
