FXR/LONCIN 150cc Bucket FOR SALE $1000 ono

Shelracing is moving up in the bucket racing world (going 2stroke) and so we have our trusty fxr/loncin for sale.

This bike has been hand made by us and it is an FXR frame and a Loncin 150cc motor, which is almost new. It has passed scrutineering at Taupo RSS last Xmas.

The motor is ported and has had a race cam fitted. It is a lot faster than the standard motor. It is very fast off the start line. We did have a pumper carb on it and it was even faster. Steve had won several B Grade races at Mt Wellington on it, until he got promoted to the A grade, built a new bike and Granma inherited the Loncin.

It has had an oil change after every race meeting. The front suspension has been modified, so it handles really well. We have just fitted a new rear shock.

It has the original FXR 17" front wheel, but an FZR 17" rear wheel. Both fitted with sticky racing slicks.

This bike is real easy to start. It has a kick start which even Granma can start the bike with. It is always reliable.

No work is needed on this bike, just start, ride and enjoy.

We can deliver to Auckland next month for free.
We will deliver elsewhere in the NI by negotiation.
Sorry we cant do the South Island!

Hi Steve and Ellen
Great to meet you guys today and talk buckets.
The Loncin/fxr is now proudly parked in the garage next to my daughters immaculate fxr, I warned her that she had best watch out because if Mum needed spare parts hers might become the doner bike. She was not impressed!!!. Im looking forward to getting out on the track asap and will catch up with you guys on the 14th
Cheers
Wendy

Hi Steve, hi Ellen,

You mentioned upgrading the shock in your FXR last time I saw you. I should have paid more attention. I've had a closer look at my FXR shock and I've noticed 2 things: 1) it's really short, only 235mm and 2) it seems REALLY stiff, maybe around 20kg/mm. How much longer was your replacement shock than the original one? How did the stiffness of the replacement seem to compare to the original? Tim. PS ... looks like I'm going to hastings again. Woo hoo!!!

Strange your comments on your shock. The reason for the replacement on ours was there was no damping, It had leaked and was pretty much reliant on the spring only.

We got hold of a second hand shock, which was no better than our original, so no point on wasting more money there. I brought a pitbike shock which was 260mm, it was the shortest budget shock i could find of decent quality.
It fitted straight in. Raised the seat height ( a little more than I expected )
noticably lifted the rear end, which made you feel like you were leaning down and forward on the front end. Transformed the bike tho, handled really well after getting used to the change in riding position.

Not a bad option, the bike might be at the track next meeting you could take a look, before you decide
