anyone got one lying around?
The Touratech headlight on my PD took a stone over the weekend and now has a big hole in it. Research on the interweb indicates the headlight unit is a factory xt600 one.
Anyone got one lying around they can take pics & measurements off? and if it looks like the interweb is correct, anyone got a spare one lying around for sale?
Eddie
What year XT600. 96 onwards were a funny shape but a very good headlight.

Hey, Your bike would look cool with a nice guard for the light too, can you do it? Of course, once you get the new lens?
Guess it will let in water while riding too?

Hmm, thats a different shape to mine, mines a proper rectangle. Maybe the interweb lied.
You better lock that up next time I'm there, just in case....

125mm across by 85mm high.
Your touratech headlight is actually an Acerbis HP headlight rebadged. Get your dealer onto Darbi's and ask them if they have a sealed beam for it, part # is 7029. Or complete headlight is 3022B
Andy.

Thanks, I did find some Acerbis markings on the back of it. It's not a sealed bean unit in mine though.
I didn't think they were sealed beams either when I worked for the importer...

The prob with car ones is they have different bracket bits on the back. i got a car one for mine and carefully cut the lens out (disc grinder), then smashed my lens out of the back part . The car one fitted perfectly and is still there now held in with RTV. $15 versus $150.

The problem (with klr anyway) is the bike light has brackety bits on it that were needed for light adjustment etc.

Apparently Hayes (diesel KLR dudes) sell off the bits they strip off the bikes they convert.
Indicators, plastics, tanks...
And sell them off cheap.

MMM tanks sounz interestin and topical. been looking at tank / radiator guards for the poor beast and a IMS tank that replaces the radiator guards (therefore no more smashy) is cheaper now than the guards.
