Well after a lot of recommendations on this site I went and got a new pinlock visor for my Shoei helmet, which required me to also replace the visor.

They had a "half tint" visor which I hadn't seen before, where only the the top of the visor is tinted, and it's a light tint.
I went for a night ride last night, and much to my delight, it was perfect. Still plenty of visibility (I had tried a full tint many years ago, and found it very bad at night time).

And then I went for an early morning ride this morning. The tint worked great, didn't need to wear sun glasses (which also had a habbit of misty up at low speed).
And most of important of all, almost no misting. I am completely sold on the pinlock system now, and would strongly recommend it to anyone else suffering a misting issue.

And it was so clear. The nice thing about getting a new visor is that it is clean. :-)

Mine's always like that, except immediately after riding.
Plexus FTW. :niceone:

The Shoei visors are so easy to change, that I don't really see the point in a half-tint one. Just wear the dark tint to work, and if I work lateish, swap for the clear one.

I find the half tint ideal, but I usually ride to work in the dark, and head away late afternoon. Saves me carrying a spare visor. Lemon pledge is nice, as well.

Because I don't want to carry two visors around with me. I already have to carry enough stuff.

I have a half tint pinlock for the Shoei and like it. Don't think I'd like it quite so much at night but otherwise it works fine.

Pinlock visors "do" mist up, mine was fogged to buggery last night riding down the East Coast around Rangitata to Temuka in freezing cold fog.

They are the best I have used yet but given really cold damp conditions and they will fog up.

I guess a few Northerners visiting for the Brass this weekend might well find this out. :cold: :ride: Enjoy.
