Was he really spooked by the van? Sometimes i think they just make up shit to fill in the time.

yea i know what you mean, I doubt he was scared by the van, if he had've stayed in his own lane without bailing he would've been sweet.

Maybe he had shinkos on 'ez bike

So dramatic! "He paniced"?? I think he simply lost the front and slid.
Those shows piss me off.

Looks like the bike protected him a bit from the car...
Very lucky either way!

If he's not in pain for the rest of his life, he'll be one hell of a lucky man.

What's worse than taking a bike to its limits on a public road? Taking a bike PAST its limits on a public road! Maybe he just needed better tyres/suspension/skills?

Oh my. I can hardly believe he survived that. Just goes to show how resilient the body can be, even though he was probably protected to a small degree by his bike. I would imagine he'll not be back on two wheels for some time, and hopefully if he ever does ride again he'll think twice before trying the same stunt.

Hearing the commentary it would seem as though this is not a rare occurence for riders to play chicken with the traffic at lane mergers like that. Continue playing the odds and your number will come up sooner or later. The driver of the car must have needed to change his underwear as well!
