Finally after 2 1/2 months I have my bandit back.

Middle of March I had and accident which left me with a broken collarbone (the worst of my injuries) and a very sad looking bike. Insurance all went through smoothly thanks to the wonderful guys at Vero in Christchurch, but big delays waiting for the faring to come from Japan. My only consolation in the wait was that I was unable to ride anyway.

The bone still hasn't joined yet and I'm doing physio to regain full muscle strength and arm movement - basically the doctor told me not to ride until the bone has healed. However, with the news that my bike was finally ready to be picked up I couldn't help myself. Went in on the back of my husband's bike and we rode them both home together. The sheer pleasure of being back on the bandit meant I could barely keep the smile off my face, despite the wet weather and compulsory collection of dickheads on the road.

Having satisfied my withdrawal symptoms at least for a while now, I shall content myself with sitting on it in the garage while waiting for my bone to mend. (And I'll only take it out and about every now and then. I just won't tell my doctor.....)

Big hugs and kisses to my hubby for understanding and not insisting that he would ride it home while I trailed behind in the car (which had been our original plan).

Balu is a good bugger and all that, PB.... but I won't be hugging and kissing him for that.
A line must be drawn in the sand!

Great you've got your bike back :niceone:

That's great news. Well done for getting back on that horse. At least you can now polish and admire your Bandit in the garage.

Good luck with the bone healing. It is probably the best time of the year to be off the road :)

:niceone: Well, patience is a virtue and you were keen to go and get your ride back in the inclement weather! :sweatdrop

Good on ya and now you can spend time just looking at it ... but I'm pretty sure that won't last for long! :o

congrats on getting the bike back.

just try to resist temptation too much. the vibrations of the bike cause the weakened bones to break alot on the healing edge so you could undo alot of work that's been done.

I look forward to hearing yoru ride report when you get back to regular bike riding.
