Coming into a roundabout this morning and there was this dude on a scrotter, already in the circle...as I waited for him to come past, he WAVED at me...! :wavey:
Does this mean I have to jump off a bridge?

Was it the the secret KB wave?

Does he know why Harley riders don't wave?

Was he ATGATT?

Did he take off his helmet when buying petrol?

Don't leave us wanting more...

Well what's the problem then? A lot of bike riders have a scooter in their stable including myself. He was obviously just being friendly but if you still want to jump of a bridge then that's your call.

I didn't say I WANTED to jump off a bridge - I asked did I HAVE to jump off a bridge...

When I get my bike serviced the bike shop lends me a "wee" (50cc) scooter to commute back and forth to my motel etc. :eek5:

Sure beats first class walking.

I have now experienced the "real" danger and the very "high risk" that scooter riders face every inch of their journey in the city!

My attitude has changed toward scooter riders immensely! :scooter:

I always acknowledge them now whether "they" notice me or not! :niceone:

I hope none of my children or grandchildren ever buy a small scooter as a means of transport in the city! :nono:

Scooters are alright for....taking your puppy for a ride in the front basket/popping down to the shops at smoko time/delivering the mail/getting to the salon (and or) mall on time and should any scooter owner/rider wave at a real motorbike then, they obviously are very envious and in waiting for that moment where they too, can ride with pride.

That chap makes up for the scooterista I observed yesterday. Zipping along in the left wheel track (most uncommon - not) with the chinstrap of the helmet completely undone and flapping behind the neck.

Ahh well. Each to their own.

If you think for a minute that you're so special that you'd even consider not returning someones' friendly gesture then we'd all be better off with you at the bottom of a bridge.

I got to admit Maha, that I do feel "inwardly apologetic" when riding the wee scooter in traffic.

Just goes to show how subconciously predjuced I am! :shifty: I feel so ashamed.

Please say you waved back. There are enough forces against us two wheelers let alone two wheelers joining in. He's a brother. Okay, all families have 'em. The brother that doesn't dress the way you do but he's still on two wheels.

Look after family. You never know when you'll need them.

I always wave to scooters and HD's.

Yep, there's a little Honda SCV100 in the collection. I think it's a little too camera shy to line up with big boys but it sure is a lot of fun to play around on, especially at the beach. I do, however, apply the same safety rules and gear when riding it.:niceone:

Never gotten a wave around auckland city naturally, but I always make eye contact with riders coming my way. However I will be saying goodbye to my nifty fifty at some point as I'm pretty sure I'm getting a bike soon.

I guess scooter riders usually don't 'get' the whole brotherhood thing, as I've never had one even acknowledge me, even though we are both on scooters. XD

I've noticed less and less waving.

I'm a thinking I might just start random gesturing. eg, wrap left arm over head. Stick right foot out. Punch straight into the air. Pat top of head etc...

Then again there are scooters then there are Scooters. Balu's is frequently mistaken for a bike when seen head on, and he waves to anyone! (not fussy, you see). lol

I don't recall ever having a scoot rider wave to me but I usually nod to acknowledge them. Sometimes I even wave. Probably wouldn't to anyone just on their nifty fifty wearing daggy old trackies and jandals and teeshirt. Does that make me a snob? :msn-wink:

Jeez, the Thruxton is getting it's first service next week - I'm hoping they give me a Speed Trip or a Daytona to commute to work and back.

As for scooter boy waving at you - haha yea, he's just being friendly, I've got a Vespa PX200 in the garage - but then, well, not quite the same is it.

Getting the Vespa serviced a while back at TSS in Alicetown, Petone - they put me on a GN of some unknown CC - bloody embarrassing.
