OH dear! Its not really snow until it slides off the roof in the night with a whoomp and wakes you up...

I begged off the classic club ride to pencarrow today though - not quite enough reserves yet for putting myself in the line of fire ...

Yeah, we had some of that too. I'm a bit concerned because it's sitting on our overhanging window ledges and not melting.

Yer but if you moved 2 houses up the hill you would have to put an aircraft warning beacon light on the roof.
If the snows too thick on the roof , dont go outside and clear it , the jet wash from the 737s on takeoff will sort it for you.:msn-wink: :bleh::bleh:

I was born in Newlands (who needs a hospital lol) and it wasnt long after the Wahine storm i remember snow covering all of Steward Drive and the Belmont school flat area.
The Chook farm around the way lost a bunch of chooks in the freezing cold .It must have been about 1970ish.

That's too kind  I wish I was 23 again.... and know what I know now!
Got send photos from the man's family in Gisborne.... it snowed in Matawai and they had pics of them playing in the snow... and my excuse for the excitement was going to be that I grew up in Gisborne where it never snowed!!

It snowed in Masterton too, after a huge hail storm. Kids loved it, sent them out in it and after about half and hour and frozen hands and a small snowman (made of mainly hail) they came inside with big smiles on their faces. I cant remember it snowing here since I was a wee girl, was quite exciting

Funnily enough we had a lovely weekend in Levin, apart from about an hour on Sunday! The forecast was meant to be crappy but it was fine every day and sunny, albeit a tad chilly. I got three loads of washing almost dry before thinking "that black cloud looks to be getting closer" and bringing it in - five minutes later we had what we'd been expecting all weekend - torrential rain and strong wind. An hour later it was fine again.

Gorgeous here again today too - steam rising off the paddocks, no clouds and a not a breath of wind either - luverly!
