Hmm just a question to throw out to all you knowledgeable people out there.
I recently bought a 08 GT250R from a squid that spilled it and hit the front end into a wall with less than 1.2k on the bike. Sold it to me for 1k USD. It was in storage for almost 9 months.
Did an assessment of the bike, not too bad. Tranny and engine is fine, Clutch lever is snapped, shifter knob is completely sheared off. Bent front forks. Other than cosmetic damage thats the brunt of it.
My question is this, is there any possibility to swap out the front forks/tubes from a different model/make bike? I know that Hyosung manufactures the engine for the Suzuki SV, but can I swap those forks in? The measurements for the forks is 41mm inverted.
The reason im asking this is because the dealers here want to charge me 800 for two new tubes!
Btw this is my second fixer motorcycle, my first one was a 96 Suzuki GSX600F Katana
Thanks in advance.
