Had my first ticket a few hours ago:o, just had an oil change took off and totally screwed up. Got caught doing 82kph in a 50kph zone:o, the fine is $300, i feel very dissapointed in myself. And hopefully i will not get in trouble again, the officer luckily let me off being 1 hour over my riding curfew also.

I am curious as to how bad some kbers have copped it. How bad have you guys had it, tickets etc. Or are there a more majority of clean rap sheet riders.

For the amount of stupid things I've done in front of cops I should have had my car impounded and sent to court several times over, yet I've never been pulled over.

I was a wee bit naughty when I started out caging, I think I racked up 1600 or so in the end. Nothing on a bike yet, only been 2 months or so though...

HA.

Just south of the meremere dragstrip, I had been doing just on 200km/h and he clocked me at 156, had both wheels locked up trying to slow down, ape hangers flexing like mother fuckers, cop coming from the opposite direction, face was twisted in disbelief, when we had our little chat he was jumping up and down on the spot in a rage and going funny colours.

I wasn't really bothered as I hadn't slept for a couple days and had a 6 hour ride ahead of me, It got weird when he started accusing me of having a doctored license and claimed I was somebody else.

I am blinging you. Why? cos rather than being a whiny arsed prick, pissing and moaning about getting a ticket and ranting about 'what cunts them fuckin pigs are' You admit you fucked up, acknowledge its your fault, realise that the cop couldve gone harder but chose not to, appreciate that he didnt, and have resolved to not make the same silly mistake again. Good on you mate. Im sick of seeing threads about how do I get off this, or how can I dodge that, or cops are just pricks.
Anyway...
Harsh lesson! bugger! but hey could be worse, lesson learned, a bit better time management skills needed maybe, and a track day for that need for speed of yours, and you will be a better person and a better rider for it.:apint:

If you want to get off the ticket there are a few people around here who might be able to help you. I mean you weren't going that fast. If they deem other roads to be safe to ride at 100km/h then who are they to decide you can't do the same on the road you were on?

Cops can be real pricks sometimes. He probably let you off the other ticket because he knew he was in the wrong.

OK - So that's 40 demerit points then.

As a tip for next time, try and negotiate the speed down to less than 30 over the limit.

I got one 2 weeks ago doing 130 in a 100. If he'd caught me a little earlier I may have been doing a little more.

Whilst I was not happy about the crafty positioning of the speed trap, I just think of all of the times I have got away with doing much higher speeds.

Just look at it as a little reminder to be a bit more careful.
(That new oil sounds awesome)

The cop was too soft...you should have got a ticket for riding outside your licence conditions...

Done pretty well here in the 8 years on the road. been close at times up around 95 demerits but always kept it under.
currently at 85.

the longer you spend on the road the more chance you will get pinged.
currently i do around 2500 to 3500 km per week on the road.

just take each ping as a warning and try to avoid doing it again.
Glad to hear that you are taking the fine seriously. bling for you.

Before i went out, my 125 had an oil change, not to sure if it would of affected the performance. Just wanted to add the details/events in sequence before and after the night it happened.

Today i have been riding extra slower than normal, i have lost count of the amount of cars that overtook me:sleep:

I have never had a ticket when on my bike which is ironic really because generally I break the speed limit on it - not by far though *ahem*

My car - sure but I never go over 115kms cause I know the price rises! I have only ever had about 4 speeding tickets and that's over about 28 years so that's not so bad.

Haven't had one YET. But then I try to keep it down and put the energy into low cunning.
Don't let cars wind you up just keep an eye on them. It's often better to have a dubious cager ahead of you than behind then they can 'pathfind'. At least you can position your self in their mirrors - they have three to choose from.

Hey elle-f.
he he he I did! Click on the little picture to get a better look that is!
AWESOME.

Well a speeding ticket aye, well, keep that lip from trembling and get on with your life.
Slow down? in town? anywhere! Arriving ten minutes ahead of yourself is not worth the risk of dying or worse killing someone else.
Read what the others have said, we all go fast sometimes, usually on straight or viewable stretches when there's no one else coming Or going.
No trick, simple, if it all turns to custard you are the only ingredient.

Never been pulled over on my bike and once in my cage cos my passenger was squirting people with a water gun as we drove past. She got told off, not me. So I've been fairly lucky while on the road.
