I got a K1 GSXR thou (twin 6pots on the front).
when the front brakes are applied they do not fully come off, so the brakes are always slightly on.
the bike has new pads and fluid, and the pistons can go right in.
why would this be happening?

The inner seals are square edged orings that roll over when brake fluid pressures them then role back when presure releases. If they are worn they will slide rather than role hence wont return.Build up of dirt between dust seal and main seal can also prevent return of piston.First step clean.Next step replace seals and check pistons for wear and damage.

There will be shit in the dust seal groove on the caliper putting a load on the piston and preventing it retracting. Disassemble the calipers, clean the grooves thoroughly of corrosion & reassemble.
I'm not sure what the guy going on about rolling seals is talking about - the hydraulic seals are deformed slightly by the fluid pressure provided by you actuating the lever. This creates the sealing pressure - they don't roll.

It may also be a bit of shit blocking the tiny bleed hole in the master cylinder.
This hole allows fluid to bleed into the cylinder bore from the reservoir as the master cylinder piston retracts.

thanks guys, i gave the brakes a good smack with a mallet, WD40's the pistons, and greased the slider bolts lightly.
so far, all good.

Now that's my kind of mechanicing...it's called "percussive maintenance"

well the fast riders have to brake hard, its the only way to over take on the road, mid apex.

actually a car aint enough, you have to come up the back of a milk tanker at 160 into a 35 to work that one

its best to use the lollypop kids as your stop-go for the burnout-wheelie
full gas, drop the clutch as the kids cross the road
once they panic and scatter, get off the front and drop the rev's and pull it to 12 o'clock
the crossing will open, so pull a coaster through with full RPM on the engine
