Hi

Does anyone out there in Bay of Plenty or Wakaito Area

Know of any place selling Shell Motorcycle Oil

I am after a 1 or 2 x 4l pack of Shell Advance Ultra 4

<img src='http://www-static.shell.com/static/nz-en/images/shell_for_businesses/lubricants/advance/advance_ultra_100.gif'>

I have always put this oil in my bike from day 1, and wish to continue, but my local shop which did sell this no long. And i can't find another one in tauranga area that does. And it can only be ordered in a box of 4, and i only really need max of 2 at this point in time not 4.

I did contact shell, who put me on to some more bulk places which have it, of course none in stock locally, and they were even more expensive than local shop where i use to buy it.

Anyone help me?

R.E.P.C.O. should order it in for you or just buy a case from Shell

if the local shops ain't gonna help you - its their loss

You can also use Mobil 1

you can only order a minium of 1 box from shell, and when i only want 1 or 2 bottles not 4,

unsure if Repco can order just one but i will drop them a line tomorrow.

Bike shops here don't stock it any more as Shell has stopped making bike oils I was told so buy up what is left when you find it .

I don't think they would stop making motorcycle oil. When i rang and talked to Shell this morning they did not say its not in production any more etc.

More like your bike shop trying to unload there stuff on to you

maybe its time to get some good stuff mate?

Shell kinda changed alot in the market, ie they have left it up to Orica to do and have essentially left NZ, and not planned to well as alot of old customers couldnt be fucked with the changeover issues and the high credit criteria in opening accounts, so they have gone elsewhere.........like Mobil for example:Punk:.

Nope i want shell Advance 4. I have put that in my bike from day 1, and wish to continue that. At the time of buying the bike, that was what Brian Bernard was using in the k4 600's race bikes. they were racing. It was the perfered brand of my local dealer also. Ducati recommend shell in all there motorbikes also. And if i have to change it will not be Castrol, most likey Mobil 1.

Almost, if not all manufacturers who recommend oils, are paid to do so.

i let ya know later mate.

Still hoping to find some Shell for the gixxer.

Will need oil for ape, since it needs a service. Just not 100% decided waiting for some reponse from aprilia owners which is better one to put in mobil 1, or mobil 1 vtwin, since it meant to be 15-50, semi

shell bunch of bastards, cna't tell me who orders it only there two disbrutors, blackwoods pickler, and north fuels,
1 wants my arm and leg for 1 bottle, and the other does not sell indivual units, only by box,

So that means i can get a box of 4x4 litres for $300 pretty much

so thats $75 a bottle. little bit cheaper than what i was paying at bike shop, not by much tho.

Problem is only need 2 max, one for service now, and one for service in another 6-7 months.

Or i get a bald man, to get me some of his crap, and change oils.

5+ years and 50,000kms on same brand, bah humbug. stupid oil companys.

Sure, when it's available, stick with it, but when it's not, it's time to move on.

bit of a bump

I finally got got arse in to gear and ordered a box of shell oil, i used North Fuels for this.

Only annoying thing is i had to make an account with north fuels, which involved a few extra steps in the process.

Process of signging paper work to create an account, to reciving oil was 5 working days.

The box ended up being a box 3 of not 4, but in turn was cheaper than i though 3 x 4 litres cost me $252, so thats $84 a bottle, which was the price i was paying for it thru the bike dealer anyway(after my discount)

If anyone else wants shell oil let me know. i got an account and order the stuff now
