It's getting about the time where it's goo cold to ride gloveless and still use my hands afterwards, and my ski gloves just don't cut it when it comes to gripping the bars and twisting the wrist so I figure I need some real gear now. And I should probably buy some form of protective jacket too...

Don't say trademe! I would've bought everything from there already but I can't be arsed with sizing and taking a chance that it won't fit so I wanna go to an actual shop.

Oh yeah, and gloves... would summer ones with liners cut it? or is it best to just grab a winter pair now?

Don't tell me you ride in summer without gloves? Do you not value your hands!!!! All the bike shops seem to have a decent range of gloves in various warmth levels. Budget Motorcycle Spares has a good range at a good price. Regarding summer gloves with liners, I have a nice pair of merino glove liners that would probably work well in a non perforated summer glove. I personally hate the bulkiness of winter gloves so I will be trying this option myself. May be with heated grips it would work better, I don't like cold hands. I raced in stormy weather at the beginning of the month and the liners with summer gloves actually worked quite well, but not sure about prolonged riding, this was only 10 min stints!!!!

Well since I've only been riding for about 2 months, I've never ridden in summer at all. I do ride with no gloves (or ski gloves lol) atm, but that's only coz I've been taking it real easy. Now I'm starting to figure out how this whole riding thing works, and use my chicken strip regions, so I want protection now.
