Getting big end bearings for one of my bikes...

i paid for them when i ordered them and was told they came as pairs about 80 bucks all up...

he ordered 4 and they have come in as singles... so he has to order 4 more...

should i have to pay another 80 dollars for thier screw up?

i was told that they came as sets and i needed 4 sets at $19.xx each

where do i stand on this?

Skid.

I wouldn't try it on personally. If you cant afford them, ask for a refund (because of the mistake). Either way, you probably need the bearings so just wear the actual cost. You're not actually losing anything out of it...
I'd probably be a cheeky bastard and scam a discount out of them for it.

The money is not the point necessarily... its the principal of i was quoted the prie for what i needed, i have paid... and have only been supplied half of what i need...

and am being charged again for the other half.

i think it goes without saying whih shop i am dealing with.

Mark unless you have actual proof of a quote... taped voice conversation, fax, e-mail etc... you don't have a leg to stand on. either cough up the extra cash or go somewhere else...

Just wondering if the mix up came when asking for "4 Pairs of big end bearings" versus "4 big end bearings" ??

So you've somehow combined Coleman's and Holeshot into one store eh?

Or doesn't the dole get you across the bridge?

This is simple error on the part (ha!) of the salesman. Some places might wear the 2nd 'set' - most won't. I doubt that the CGA comes into play in this situation.

i just dont see why im paying for thier fuck up.

Because you are the customer and you want the parts to fix your bike?

Any motocycle shop should be able to source Suzuki parts ... with a Suzuki dealership or not .

No, this is part of the "E&OE" - Errors and Omissions Excepted thing.

It is a simple mistake on their part. The law doesn't support you exploiting loopholes to force them to give you something you are have not paid for and are not due, and if you ditched them and bought it elsewhere you would have to pay their price anyway.

Nor should you be tempted to try this on, either.

Paying for thier fuckup? People make mistakes, you're not paying any more than you would be otherwise. Don't see what the problem is, just you were lead to believe you would be parting with so much cash and now that's wrong. If you had a written quote specifying what the payment was for then they must stick by that quote I'd think.

It was a mistake, these things happen. You're welcome to get your money back and order them from elsewhere.

You could of course cheerfully and graciously accept that peolpe make mistakes and use it as an opportunity to have a laugh with the partsman and build a relationship with the shop. That may pay dividends in the future... being a dick and throwing your toys out of the cot will not.

I sold parts for a number of years before getting a wife and a real job, and I gave more than one customer a wad full of cash and their marching orders once I'd had enough of their bitching.

Sweet as, will just pay it then, just a bit ticked off... thought i had it all sorted, the money is running out as i have taken the time off work and need to fix my bike, and now have to wait another day before i can get the parts i need. so i'm losing money being off work... so yes i am being a bit over the top i suppose, but i'm pissed off.

When your engine has its cases split and the head off all over your garage, it does make getting to the shore rather difficult.

I'm not on the dole... vineyard season.

Yes and any other shop puts more markup on than buying direct from suzuki.

Can these not just be sorted from a bearing shop?

Failing that, order them from out of town and get them to deliver to your door. You may pay less that way.

But yeah, CGA doesn't apply.

EDIT: Does the Kwaka not go, if the Suzuki is out of commision?? Think of it as a sign, cos you can't ride the Katana legally anyway
