Decked the bike. Split open the side. Looking for a cheap sidecover to replace it. Looks doesn't matter, I'll probably paint it. Churr.

Have you tried some Knead-it?
It works wonders... until you can get another cover it will get you back on the road.

How long was that?

Seeing what Knead-it has done to the other side of the motor, I believe it could work. And it'll look fashionably bogan. I'll buy some tomorrow and give it a shot.

Took me a week to damage it enough not to work. I first crashed it on the second day of riding it about, which is 4 times as long as it took me to fall off the VFR. And it's only been dropped 3 times so far. So I'm definitely improving :D
Got a wee bit richer? Got a spare cover are you suggesting? Or do I hear a vulture circling above me?

Took the cover off with the intention of plugging it up with Knead-it. But it looks too far gone so I'll ring around the wreckers to find another.
I also noticed that the cover had been replaced before. The block had scratches but the current cover had none right next to it. Man, this bike has been abused!

It was said jokingly. I have no regrets at all :D

I have a mig at home but there's no gas for it just yet. I've decided to go for the knead-it afterall. Some of it is curing right now (which is why I'm wasting time on KB).

It loves every second of it! Give me a PM if you get sick of it Coyote. I wouldn't mind it back... ;)

Damn skippy you wouldn't. It leaks half as much oil now, doesn't need fork seals, stops nice, and the engine no longer tries to vibrate the bike to pieces.
:doctor:Just call me "the doctor".

And call me the butcher!
The alternator side cover is held together with Knead-it and it leaks about a litre a week. The clutch lever is 2 bits of hack sawed aluminium held together with a zip-tie. And I've burnt out the clutch so the engine ends up spooling up quickly but it doesn't go anywhere. Though it sometimes hooks, sending the bike into a violent shake. Bit of fun when it does it past 100.
The tyres have had the writing on them glitzed up with white tyre marker.
Shopping list:
Grippier rear tyre
Clutch plates
More oil
Digital Tacho
Alternator side cover
Clutch lever
Custom fabricated subframe (though I'm not sure if I dare grind off the original)
