Hey, I have a 2004 Triumph speed four and am new to kiwibiker. My new baby has a harris pipe and k&n filter (put on by the previous owner) and runs a wee bit rough in the low rev range. Does a bit of Hunting so i have been told.
I have had people say that it is normal for a triumph and others say it needs re-mapping cos its running rich. Have tried to get it re-mappped in Palmy by the dealer there but after riding up there he took the bike for 10 mins and then said there was no map for it!!

Has anyone else had this problem? I don't really want to spend lots of money on it, just need to find some answers!
Thanks

Low speed fuelling is an issue with the Speed Four. If you have an aftermarket pipe, there is a Triumph map for it. Any reputable Triumph dealer should be able to load it on for you. It won't cure the low end fuelling but it did help on mine. I also have a PC3 on my bike and I have have activated the accelerator fuel pump option and this has made the greatest difference.
Other than that it's a surprisingly good bike (despite the odd looks) and I intend to have mine for a while yet.
Also go to www.speedfour.org and www.triumphrat.net for a lot more info.
