Once again, some kind soul has spilled vege oil all over the road, Waikato side of the Kaimai (SH 29).
Expect it to be slippery for the next few days

Location of incident: SH29 Kaimai Ranges

Incident type: Road closure

Police are presently on the scene of a vehicle crash. This is on State Highway 29 , Kaimai Ranges.
As a result of the crash there has been a large spillage of what appears to be tallow.
The area of State Highway 29 from the bottom of the Kaimai's to the summit - on the Matamata side is now closed. This will remain closed until the spillage has been cleared.
Motorists will need to take an alternative route.

Surely someone must see the truck that is dropping this tallow on the road, how many tallow trucks are there, that this has happened again.
The drivers that see it and don't report it are as guilty as the dumb bastard thats dropping it.

Glad I took a spin over to the Oak friday for lunch. Had a good run back up with little traffic to slow me down
Was gona take the missus over for lunch tomorrow, hope its cleaned up a bit

:eek: It was probably someone on their PHONE while driving reporting the truck that caused the crash LOL

Ok this is the latest up date. My wife came back over the Kaimais at 8.00 tonight.
Heading up from Matamata side from about half way up to the top is covered in grit in the outside lane and probably a little in the middle lane.

So be warned if you do go that way tomorrow take it easy.
