A sad loss. I have fantastic memories of watching David in Kung Fu during my impressionable years. Definately the best viewing around at that time. I would love to see the series again.

Always enjoyed the fact he would be playing his wooden flute one minute, then smacking some guy in the face the next.

Really?...he walked along dusty roads playing his recorder and had a bit of a kick around at the end, in between talking to 'Yes Master'..

But I agree in part, it was good show. :niceone:

There was so much wisdom and good advice in Kung Fu. Some of it still resonates with me.

Don;t go there. You'll ruin the fond memories.

JD's right. Don't watch reruns, they will only make you aware that the memories are better than the reality. I think he was cool dude as Actors go and sure enjoyed Kung Fu as a teenie. But there could have been more butt kicking per episode.

I suspect he lived a fun filled 72 years.
ps-Grasshopper would have kicked that Chuck Dorris for a six anyday.

Nothing worse than re-runs killing the memories.

I watched a re-run of a Blakes 7 episode, how did I ever think that was cutting edge?

Better to keep wearing my rose tinted glasses when I think of these old shows.

Think off hand in the 70's there were a couple of kung fu series due to Bruce Lee,Cain came accross as a wanna be actor, hated(tolerated)his programme compared to the other one around the time.

He had about as much dialog as Clint Eastwood.

Planet of the Apes/Starsky and Hutch/Logans Run/Space 1999/$6Mil Man/Charlies Angles.....they had thier merits but looking back, what were they thinking?

It was produced on a shoe string. Blake 7 had an advanced story line for the day. That, not the production, made it cutting edge at the time.

Despite the dubious circumstances, I was saddened by David Carradine's passing as like many of the other posters I enjoyed the Kung Fu TV series when I was younger and also enjoyed his performance in the Kill Bill movies, not to mention the numerous bit parts he played in many other movies.
So long Grasshopper!

Apparently it was another case of erotic asphyxiation gone wrong, if you believe the news media. Very similar to what happened with Michael Hutchence of INXS as someone previously alluded to.

(I see someone has already updated Wikipedia with Carradine's info)

Surely if someone wanted him "out of the way", there are a ways of doing so that would be less work.

I guess no one wants to know that their relative was into "interesting" sexual techniques.

It is much easier to think of him as Grasshopper.
