It's all cool. I have counter measures in the form of chaff and flares on the gixxer. Anyway if the RNZAF have to put up with 1950's vintage aircraft I don't rate the chances of HP getting hold of apachie gunships and if they do I'm going to phone 0800 new cops and ask to join.
Also the US have a history of blue on blue hits so I'm guessing they'll just brass up their own anyway.

Yeah, but in all honesty I think the best the NZ air force could muster is 1 rusty Iroquis chopper, with the 2nd man (of the two man crew) dropping bags of flour out the door...

Put the cars and trucks on these and leave the back roads for us.

Hah! That's a Eurofighter. A much more capable platform than an old-tech F16.

As mentioned before, I saw plenty of those signs in the US even back in the 80's, most had the words "strictly enforced" at the bottom of the sign.

If its NZ, defence force and flys, the airforce owns, maintains and operates it!

How hard can it be to understand that Kaman SEAsprites are deployed on Navy vessels and flown by Naval aviators?
They are serviced onboard by Navy techs, and major maintenance and overhauls are done by RNZAF staff.

Serviced by air force all the time, they embark on the ships and follow the chopper around.

You need a few more balls than you average pilot to be a Naval Pilot!!

Good to see my photographs still being put to good use. I remember taking that photo a few years back.
True RNZN pilots are navy, but trained by RNZAF. Maintenance is also performed by crabfats too. Bloody good kit the Seasprite. I see the RAN are experiencing a few issues with theirs.

Weird... I was sure that the one I saw last year had RNZAF on it (unless I was hullcinating again).
Anyway these two articles should clear who operates/maintains them. And it seems that the RNZN does own them. Oh well 2/3 ain't bad.

The Iraqi's took out a Herc at 15000 feet with a Stinger or similar, so a pillion with one of these would be all good. And there's the bonus of frying tailgaters with the back blast.

"Naval Support Flight of No.3 Sqn RNZAF". ie Navy pilots and crew operate them for the commanding officers of RNZN frigates.
proving once more that they dont belong to the force (http://www.airforce.mil.nz/about/aircraft/main.htm)
So that leaves you one out of three!!
