It looks like FUN.
Why aren't the other classes using the same full circuit as F1, F2 etc.???
Basically time constraints. Other classes have backmarkers that can't do fast enough times to get us through the program on the full circuit.
Looks like some good changes have been made!
I had a blast up there last year!!
The only thing I run into trouble with was not knowing when qualifying was!

No, were using Marktime. Tim unfortunately was too much for us to use. We wanted to keep our entries down for all competitors. We are however going to ensure your program guide has the practice schedule in it this time.....

the good thing about our meeting is that the track tempreture is alot better in summer, even when it was wet for the endurance we only had 4 offs in 3 hours, & all 19 teams finished. we are in talks with the track at presant to see what they are doing with the edges of the patch ups

Thank you for setting rates at a more affordable level.
I was expecting Wanganui to be expensive, but Manfield (1st round Tri-S) is just as much - $110 for 12 laps of racing (short track). Cross entry another $100.
Where as your $150 for two different bikes in different classes - (13 laps each class) with a couple of practice sessions the day before seems more better!

ok people, just another update, just hit the 100 bike mark today, 1 class is already full with reserves , most other classes still have plenty of room. F2 & the endurance race are into the teens. still over 3 months until entries close, but me thinks at the rate entries are coming in , most classes will be full way before then. Note streetstocks are now not racing with buckets, so plenty of room for them. And remember its first in first served, not fastest in qualifing, to fill the grids for all classes.
sinfull
10th August 2009, 21:45
Question here ! When filling in the entry form with a cross entry with a second bike, do ya want a second entry form or shall i just put both bikes and both classes on the one form ?
Edit : actually before i do that, which class is full ? Should i bother with cross entering into bears ?
racer40
11th August 2009, 09:02
hi sinfull, you can enter 2 classes on the one form, remember our rule 1 bike 1 class, 2 bikes 2 classes etc. the class thats full is the F4 GP buckets. Bears still plenty of room, c u there.

Are there any specific rules for endurance racing here? Refuel proceedures, fuel capacity, pit crew safety etc?
What happens when it's red flag?
Is there a MNZ rule book for this as well? I looked but didn't find any.

As one of the firemen last year, i witnessed some braindead refuelling that frequently nearly ended in tears.
I will be constructing a guideline in discussion with Scrivy shortly & will post it up here & also print off copies.

Not at all. Senior professional firemen in full level two gear supported by volunteer firemen will be present, packing some serious fire retardant.
Fortunately these people are part of the general race meeting volunteer team & also members of the NZ Sidecar Racing Association.
A fireman will approach the bike that is about to be refuelled & position himself appropriately for best effect in the event of a flare up, but well out of the way of the pit crew & refuelling activities.

Hi Johan,
Unfortunately, there are no rules as such for endurance racing!
There won't be a red flag situation, as we have a safety car and s/c signs, as well as ambulance signs that will be displayed from each marshall post, so slow laps such as Nascar/Indy cars will happen behind a safety car.
Chris and I are working through the re-fuelling situation now, and will post up details soon. We will also have a detailed briefing for the endurance riders on the morning of the 27th, including how to operate behind the safety car etc.
There are no limitations on fuel capacities etc.
The safety of all riders/crews is most important to us, refuelling, ride through speed, airhorns in pit lane etc will all be explained in the morning briefing - along with a printed sheet of the details for you to peruse as well.
This will be a great event, and the evening of the 27th will be even better!! I've gone $5000 over budget just on extra food and drinks to make this a social night not to be missed!!
(So er...... what I was trying to say was, no ones allowed to bin it and ruin the day....:bleh:)

Not defending it with Sketchy racer unfortunately, Suzuki were scared of me riding their bike I think hehe. He's got another awesome racer joining him though so should increase his chances. Plus gives me a chance to "do" him.
Chrislost has snaffled me up and we should have a pretty aggressive little team on an 07 CBR600RR, so back to representing Honda. Sent my entries through on Thursday last week. Hopefully they arrive Monday.

That's ok, many of us have met scracha (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/member.php?u=1083) and don't understand a word he says either. Bring the family they'll have a ball.... I hear there'll be a bouncey castle this year.... whether the kids will get a turn will depend if you can get all the racers off! ;)

Firstly it is not heroin or cocaine, it is having a laugh, a bit of banter, taking the piss.
I need to teach the kids how to chib(bash) someone with a bat and broken bottle then to get a go of the bouncy castle by the looks of it. They have become soft since moving here.
Well let me tell you when a were a lad we were dragged up, not brought up, had to fight to be able to get the spot in the castle or more like the dungeon next to the window(well hole in the wall) and if you got that the other siblings got the fungus spot for a drink of water.
So living here in damp houses and leaky buildings makes me feel at home!

Hi Korn, Scribby here (ya cheeky $@#%),
The Endurance as Chris stated already has 5 reserve teams lined up!! So no go there. The TRRS F1 late fees are $175. You would be number 21 in the Supers. If ya get info back by 12:00 today - you will still make the program.

racer40
11th December 2009, 15:46
clubmans did not have enough enties, so the riders have been put into other classes or had entries returned, so far all gone into other classes. Still can put an entry in if you are quick. Sketchy is in f1 as well as f2 as he has 2 bikes, if he turns up with 1 he does not go in f1. we have promised the F1 boys( 21 of them now they will not get hounded by swarms of 600s trying to get another race) that is until the feature at days end when we let the 600s go in it. Hope this helps, Chris

This is a real blow for the 3 Hour Race, as all the newbies on the racing scene would have gotten to see a real character race!!
His antics at the social would have had people in stiches too!!
But talking to Robbie last night, he was guttered that it had fallen through!!
My apologies to those of you who had realy wanted to see this legend race.
