"It's Not OK"

Join the ride and make a stand!

Hi all.

I am organising for "The Super Maori Fullas" to participate in events while they are in Hawke's Bay (Napier and Hastings) Sunday 28 - Tuesday 30 June.

They are on a crusade against Family Violence. Sadly something that many families are experiencing.

The full HB itinerary is yet to be completed, but as soon as I have it all done I will post in this thread. But the plan will be something like follows:

The SMF arrive on Sunday afternoon. As they have been riding all day from Wanganui with stops on the way, I assume they have had enough riding. There might be a social get together with some focus and some media participating. But might also be that they have no energy left for Sunday.

Monday is the main day. There will be riding and appearances for the whole day. Media will be part of this also politicians and local councils. Add to that not4profit groups who take this message seriously.

Tuesday the SMF are riding over the hills to Taupo around noon. But we are trying to get some apperances sorted before they leave.

At this stage my intention is to let the local riders know so whoever has time and is willing to support the cause can be part of this. The more the merrier.

You will be able to participate when you can. You can tag on when it suits you and leave when you must. I will be with SMF while they ride in HB.

If you already know that you want to be part of this, please let me know in this thread or in PM. Model or make of bike is not important. The SMF has this to say re biking: "Four wheels carry the body, two wheels carry the soul".

I will ride with them all the way while they are in HB.

Cheers.

This time NI only. They do this on their own behalf, own money. (Donations appreciated!) Last trip was February. Now this June/July one. They will be doing one more before end of year. Also comes down to who contacts them and sets something up. I have organised the HB itinerary.

If you are interested I can give you their Email addy if you PM me so you can ask them direct what is coming up and perhaps offer to set up something in your region?

Cheers

Sunday and whole Monday is now locked in. Please note that there might not be that much riding going on apart from between the visits, but the main message here is the "It's Not OK" that we are promoting on this tour.

Tuesday will be a Napier day as we only have until 10AM before SMF leave for Taupo. As mentioned, we will accompany them for a while. Most probably to the summit cafe' where we have a stop and something warm to drink.

Any support from riders who want to be part of this is welcome and would be highly appreciated!

Sounds like a great time and a good cause. I would definitely be supporting it if I lived in the Norf Island.

Thanks rosie. Would have loved having you there.

Please note that the itinerary has now had the following change:

On Sunday when we ride in to HB we will not hold the press conference (all media has indicated that they will attend some of the visits on Monday). We will instead have a powhiri at Flaxmere Marae with a boilup. Any riders accompaning us are welcome to this and be fed also.
