Does anyone else have this experience?
This morning it was pissisting down as it is wont to do in the Tron. I was walking along the footpath in Ham East - under the continuous verandah roof that is in front of the shops - where NO rain was getting to. Along comes this dude with a frigging great golf umbrella - also walking under the shelter of the roof. His umbrella is fully open and is just about taking the heads off anyone within four feet of him. I had to dodge as he swung it my way, just about lost an eye to the spokes that stick out the edges...
What's that about? Why keep the bloody thing up if you're under shelter? 'e wasn't the only one either - lots of little old ladies doing much the same thing, 'cept their brollies were smaller and a little less dangerous. Bastards!
Burn 'em all I reckon...

I love watching people with umbrellas on a wet windy day, seeing umbrellas turn inside out in the hands of an untrained operator is farken hilarious!!

+1 Otherwise they'll never learn... until they poke someone's eye out, or come across some real psycho that punches them in the head or something :girlfight:

har! the joys of wet days. was much the same at high school. i didnt bother with a brolly during school hours cos there was literally no room to put the damn thing up. plus there were so many brollys in use, i was able to slip under them and stay fairly dry, lol.

Uh, why not be , like, normal. Ride to bike to wherever you are going , get off , (park on footpath if appropriate, that's not "riding along" it) , and carry on. No walking on footpaths. People walking on footpaths is a very antisocial and irresponsible thing, you could cause a motorcyclist to come off his bike.
