If you want her in your life then you need to "sit her down for a serious talk" . That talk should be letting her know how important the bike is to you and that you intend for it to be a part of your life, now, in the future, through marriage and kids etc.

If you can't sit down and talk about tough issues now you'll have to learn it at some stage. Some people never learn it and just mislead and lie to their partner.

So my thoughts are HTFU and have the talk now. Think about what you want to say and go for it. I'm not a big fan of people who think it's okay to repress a partner or a person who thinks it's better to lie and hide rather than front up.
