I bought a single bike trailer off trade me.

Dad arranged for it to be shipped from Wellington to Auckland at mates rates, so I've been waiting patiently for over a week.

Anyhoo, I get the call last night that it is here - so I scream down to the depot to see my new trailer. It is so perfect. It's really low to the ground so I'll be able to load my bike on it by myself....I was so stoked!! Thanks to Klink who I bought it off!!!

So the guys at the yard attach it to my car and I take off. A couple of k's down the road it comes off the towball. So being a girl I call my Dad to come help me. It seems that they shop had put a cap on my towbar making it too long to attach the trailer. So my wonderful Dad - who's well into his 60's - pulls the trailer a couple of k's back tot he depot I picked it up from. The guys at the depot take the cap on my towbar off and we are away again!

I had to drop Dad back to his car and he said to me to wait and we will check the trailer is secure. I parked up in a driveway for a building that was closed for the night outside a sign that clearly said ENTRY and put my hazard lights on. While patiently sitting there a security guard came screaming around the corner, out the entrance and straight into my trailer pushing the trailer into my car!!!!!!!

Thankfully Darren at Morgan Engineering in Auckland has said he can have my trailer fixed for me by the MotoTT Trackday next Friday.

But FFS!!!!!!!!!

It's so sad you gotta laugh I suppose. Always attach your own trailer as you're the one who is ultimately responsible for the deaths you'll cause....

I was gonna say you were lucky that the trailer didn't do any damage when it came off the towball... but then read the last part... gutted. My mate had the trailer come off coming down a big hill. The trailer swung forward on the chain and ruptured his fuel tank
Your dad sounds like he rocks!

Never ever let anyone else hook up a trailer to your towing vehicle...can't stress that enough! :argh:
YOU must take responsibility for your own shit and get off getting Dad to sort your shit k.
Aside from that....lesson learnt I hope! :angry2:

Good on ya for taking it to Morgan eng I used to work there when i lived in auckland, if Darren promises, he delivers.

And just about everyone there was or is involved in some kind of motorsport, Darren used to race a Macintosh back in the 80's and was keen on his bucket racing a few years ago... Take time to get to know the people doing work for you and they will look after you good.

Miss those buggers.

I know I know - but let's face it, the only man a girl can trust is her Daddy! I forgot to mention that I was in my little skirt and heels, that's why my Daddy wanted to put the trailer

Sorry, but am I the only one who thinks you aren't making sense here? You called your father because he's the one guy you CAN'T trust?

And you were wearing a little skirt and high heels I understand, but your father wanted to PUT the trailer WHERE?
