Over the years I've had two brand new bikes in 1986 a VF400F crashed 3 months old and in 1990 a VF700 Magna crashed 12 days old.

Has anyone else crashed new bikes?

On the VF400 going hard over the Whangamata hills I had a head on with a campa van got two scratchs , bike totaled.

On the VF700 gf on the back hit a dog broke five bones in my left hand , bike not to bad.

Has anyone else crashed new bikes?

I've never ridden a new bike, let alone crashed one ;)

Was your girlfriend hurt when you hit the dog?

You'd have to be pretty dumb to crash a new bike...

I smacked up my 1972 CT2 in a bike to bike off road less than a week old, bent bars and broken levers, when it was 3 weeks old with 1000miles on it I ripped open the side of a Trekka with it,bent the frame and nearly everything else, damge was nearly half the value of the bike.

It was a pisstake. There is some "history" there.

This is exactly why I hate the Internet, and why can't I get my medication when I need it?

Dont think i personally will ever own a bike from brand new. cant afford it. cant afford to loose it, cant afford the rate of its devalueing(sp?).

I've never ever ever even owned a new vehicle. Even my pushbikes were secondhand.

But I have wrecked two bikes, and I don't feel proud of that, even if neither accident was legally my fault...

Dunno 'bout rotting my undies, but I'd certainly cancel my subscription to the mag! Not that I'd trust a culture vulture to ride my bike.

Poor bastard who owned the bike. Gotta feel for him/her.

As Jim2 pointed out, I was being VERY sarcastic  About 3 to 4 months are my stats.

(Went a year and a half on my learners and restricted, no bins... and then that! :angry2: )

But, experience is a fricken great teacher

1988 FZ750 1200k's on clock 4 (yes four) days old, kid in whangarei in old holden POS station wagon pulls out of park on right and side, crosses infront into side street. me doing 50 ks( officer) .5 second sooner or later, an i would have gone in front of him or behind him, wrote the bike off .
The real pisser was when the judge reduced the charge from dangerous driving causing injury to dangerous driving, because "if he (re me) handn't been on a motorcycle he would not have been injured". the first of many times i would have liked to be having me a lynching.
