Has KiwiRider done a 600 shootout lately BD that I missed? I don't buy every issue.

'I did a quick spin' when it first came out, and it's been tested since - a while ago - but Demos/press bikes are hard to come by because they tend to pre-sell them.

i guess thats the point tho, the extra 75 makes it that bit better / faster??
the Kawasaki suffered back when they cut the extra 36 off the 636.
what upsets me is that the honda has slipped back to 3rd!!!

Not apples and apples - it's a three cylinder engine. While I'm at it, it's a fucken peach an' all.

Qouted from the article:
"not only declared the Daytona 675 as the best supersport class bike, but the best sports machine of any capacity on the market."
and
"the Triumph was judged superior to the latest 1,000cc offerings from Aprilia, KTM and Yamaha"
Not that I am biased or anything :first:

Wasn't the Honda Cub the bike of the century? What's your point?:Pokey:

The guy at Holeshot said that they safely managed to get another 4000rpm out of that 675 engine.

That'll be last century. Some of us have moved on.
My point? It's a good bike and I'm pleased with mine and yes, it's nice to see the 675 getting good press. I liked my previous bikes too, some got good press, some didn't. And I'm sure I will move on to something else that I like, good press or not. Can't see me buying a Honda Cub though.

Didn't know there were bloody 'rules' lol
Only two problems with the 675 is the size (too small) and the styling, they need to go back to the Daytona 600/650 look, that shat on the Jappas!

"the Triumph was judged superior to the latest 1,000cc offerings from Aprilia, KTM and Yamaha"
Goes to show that you don't need 170hp to make a decent road bike.
That aside... it's funny how the British press (and in particular MCN) always gives the 675 high praise... while the American press rate it poorly with a substandard rear shock and so forth.

Maybe they are just a little biased as well.
In the same way Jeremy Clarkson raves about Aston Martin, Range Rover and generally anything British made (except the Morris Marina).

A.M.P.S. have a demo one in store. I was standing behind it talking to the Pratts this morning. Very sexy looking bike too. Almost took it for a ride. Trouble is I think I might like it too much and have to buy it.

It's not just about capacity or HP
"The Triumph Daytona charmed us with its mix of real-world ability, brilliant chassis, characterful engine and slick looks. The Triumph is the bike our testers would actually buy."
Says it all really. It's one of the ones I'm going to seriously consider when it's time to upgrade. Nothing to do with top speed.
