So my hugger and belly pan arrived yesterday, after paying the customs fees just a day or two ago.
[Ermax. Pretty good quality. Reasonably well packed. Will post pics and review when they're fitted.]
Anyway, I just noticed that the little bill I paid to get the stuff released from customs had the stuff listed as "apparel".
I think that's due to the label on the box saying "b/pan" and "hugger" and not much else. So maybe customs thought "hugger" meant a "mini-skirt" or "tight jeans" or something.
So an email to James Deuce indicates that yes, maybe I paid too much.
A call to the customs help desk confirminates his opinion:
clothing = import duty
motorcycle parts for private use = no duty
(I still have to pay the GST.)
So there's a lesson for me.
Off to customs house next week to get some money back. (Possibly to spend on Crazefox).
Cheers,
