Oww! -that sucks man, thanks for the heads up!
I wonder what the legalities would be for us to start a
name and shame thread?
If Fair go can do it.....

I have no problems telling you that

has just been ordered in the Waihi District Court to pay me $3390 because he would not honour the warrenty that he gave me with the rebuilt motor that I bought off him on trade me.

Perhaps you could set up your own website for that, and carry the risk yourself? Please don't get KB into trouble.

If your spelling of his name is a bit off (Graham Hewer) this (http://www.stuff.co.nz/taranaki-daily-news/news/2416172/Hunt-on-for-rogue-roofer) is probably your man. Not his first time it would seem.

Google search brings up a few matches. Good luck to you :niceone:

Posting links to support such stuff is fine.

A "name and shame" thread posting allegations against named individuals is a potential minefield for the owner of this site.

A "name and shame" thread posting allegations against named individuals is a potential minefield for the owner of this site.I agree. But it's only an allegation when a member of the public, or the police say it. When a court says it, it's a fact isn't it? Just wondering..

thanks,
Steve

In the future there is going to be a lot more of this kind of fraud.

I have some trade accounts and the time the sales person has acidentally debited my order to someone else is frightening. I only find out when I chase up the order or find it has been delivered to/returned by someone else.

Processes and security need tightening up.

while I feel sorry for the people that this guy has blatently ripped off, read ing the article this stands out, "Mr Gallagher, who has fixed a number of the botched jobs, alleged Mr Hewer undercut other shingle roofers with unrealistic quotes when he came to Taranaki." notice the word unrealistic? I see this a lot within the construction industry, although it is fair to say that any job should be taken on with an appropriate standard, I'm sick to death of losing tenders because somone is 20 or even 30% cheaper, then hearing people complaining about how shoddy the work was, IF SOMEONES QUOTE IS UNREALISTIC, THERE WILL USUALY BE A REASON

You don't last long doing that shit. The guy's up for liquidation too - see listing under Shingle Roofing Corp here (http://www.bdcentral.co.nz/afa.asp?idWebPage=8338&idBobDeyProperty_Articles=12107&SID=950457451).

you would be amazed how many cowboys there are that move around a lot, and keep getting jobs because people think "hell he's cheap" its a sad fact of the business
