Hi everyone,

just got a 2002 R6 not too long ago and have just discovered the nut holding the front sprocket has come off as its thread is f--d (noticed it resting on my side stand when i pulled over earlier ). Not sure why that might have happened, but will need a new nut and lock washer before i think about getting back on. Anyone know where I might find em on a weekend? Might just have to wait until monday :(

Is that the nut thread or the bolt thread?

Shouldn't be difficult to get a nut. Try and establish the precise size before shagging it with the wrong one.

Good luck.

thankfully only the nut is poked, dunno where the washer went (if it was even on there in the first place).

yeah, most stores down here are already closed though.. ah well. must be a hint to get the 250 fired up. cheers

Get the genuine yammy nut and lock washer, I had this happen to my c1 zzr1100 at 120 on the motorway, thankfully only a long skid mark on the road (and pants) when it decided to part company, funny thing is a week later i got a letter from kawasaki warning this could happen, so wait till monday aye and sort it properly:niceone:

Some things never change. Back in the day, my FZ750 chewed out the front sprocket nut (it'll pretty much always chew the nut thread BTW - the shaft is case hardened).
